Kovar® coil is typically supplied to meet the requirements of AMS/MIL-23011C, Class 1.  Other specifications upon request.

Kovar® coil is an alloy made up of 29% nickel, 17% cobalt, .2% silicon, .3% manganese and 53.5% iron. Kovar® coil is known for its low coefficient of thermal expansion. Kovar coil is suitable for uses which require a matched expansion seal between metal and glass parts.  Kovar® end uses are usually glass sealing in the electronics industry.  Typical applications for Kovar ® coil are glass-to-metal seals, lead frames, electronic package base, lids, power tubes, transistors, diodes, microwave tubes, hybrid packages, x-ray tubes, vacuum tubes, and light bulbs.

Eagle Alloys also supplies additional low expansion, controlled expansion, and glass-to-metal or ceramic sealing alloys including Invar®, Alloy 42, Alloy 46 Alloy, 47/50, 48, 49, and Alloy 52. EAC can supply soft magnetic Alloy 50, Hiperco 50 & 50A, and Vim Var Core Iron.
